Job Title: Grant Manager 

Level: Managing Partner 

Reports to: Program Lead 

Job Type: Annual contract with option of extension to 5 years based on performance 

Location: On-site (Abuja) 

 

Responsibilities: 

  1. Oversee the full lifecycle of grants, from solicitation and awarding to management, reporting, and close-out, ensuring compliance with donor requirements 
  2. Lead the review and evaluation of grant proposals, ensuring alignment with project objectives and compliance with financial and regulatory guidelines 
  3. Ensure that all grants are compliant with donor regulations, including adherence to USAID’s Automated Directives System (ADS) and other applicable financial guidelines 
  4. Monitor the financial management of all grants, including budget development, expenditure tracking, and timely disbursement of funds to grantees 
  5. Prepare and submit detailed grant reports to donors and stakeholders, ensuring timely, accurate, and transparent financial and programmatic reporting 
  6. Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with grant management, ensuring accountability and transparency in the use of funds 
  7. Provide training and support to grantees on financial management, reporting requirements, and compliance issues to ensure they can meet donor expectations 
  8. Work closely with the project’s finance team to align grant management with overall financial systems, including budgeting, audits, and financial reporting 
  9. Represent the project and Sydani Group at key forums, advocating for project objectives and promoting best practices 

Required Qualifications

  1. Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field
  2. Minimum 10+ years of experience in managing grants for large-scale healthcare projects, with a focus on primary health care and health systems strengthening  
  3. Proven experience in managing USAID grants and ensuring compliance with USAID’s Automated Directives System and other regulations
  4. Expertise in managing grants, sub-awards, and contracts, ensuring compliance, financial reporting, and adherence to donor guidelines
  5. Experience working with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH) and relevant departments on health data collection and health system reporting at the national level
